Today, one of the most common treats is ice cream. Ice treats are one of the favorite treats to help us relax during stressful days and very hot weather. Most tropical countries in many part of the world consider ice cream as a most beloved desert enjoyed by different brackets of age. Since icre cream is very expensive and only those who have extra money can buy it, shaved ice came about.

Yucky Chicharon!
If you are not familiar with Chicharon, this is a deep fried fat that gives a crunchy sound as soon as you eat it.
According to Wikipedia, this does not come only from pork but from other sources as well.
I just found out that there are variants of chicharon in other countries as it is also popular in the US, Andalusia, Spain and Latin America. :) All the while I thought that we're the only ones who has tasted this very delicious yet (bad for the health) treat.
Okay, now that we know what chicharon is, I just wanted to share with you an Imbestigador (Investigator) episode where they revealed how other makers of chicharon are preparing it bad, too bad that it can cause more harm aside from its given health hazards.
I would like to share with you a documented video of how this was grossly prepared by some. :( Take a look:
That's so gross right? It was just so sad that they shortchanged their customers because they wanted to make money right away.
Let me know what you think in the comments section of this post okay?

ChicharrĂ³n (also torresmo) is a dish made of fried pork rinds. It is sometimes made from chicken, mutton, or beef.

In the Philippines, tsitsaron, as it is spelled in Filipino (chicharon is now an acceptable variant term, a derivative of the Spanish word chicharrĂ³n) is usually eaten with vinegar or with bagoong, lechon liver sauce, or pickled papaya called atchara. Tsitsarong manok, made from chicken skin, is also popular.

Toyota Losing Money
I am watching the news this morning when I heard that Toyota announced that they're losing some money, blame it on the value of Yen (that's according to the news) and global financial crisis.
I'm not sure about it but if you're here in the Philippines, you will notice a lot of Toyota cars on the road. I know that here, Toyota still rules in terms of car sales. Be it from private vehicles to taxi fleet sales, they're the preferred brand of Filipinos.
I just hope that this won't affect their workers. I feel for them knowing that I've worked for a Toyota dealership before. I really pray that this won't result to layoffs and job loss that will increase the number of unemployed people here in the country.
